BUS SERVICE IN BLACKSBURG TO EXPAND IN SPRING

Blacksburg Transit has announced expanded service and extended hours of operation starting with the spring semester at Virginia Tech. Blacksburg Transit now provides:

half-hourly service to the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center directly from the central campus.

half-hourly service to the Montgomery Regional Hospital area directly from the central campus.

late service Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with at least one bus in the downtown area shortly after 2 a.m., and connections to all routes from the central campus at 2:15 a.m.

The extended hours resulted from a Virginia Tech Student Government Association initiative to provide public transportation for patrons at downtown night spots that close at 2 a.m.

New route map-schedule brochures are available on any bus, on the Virginia Tech campus and at area businesses. For more information, or to obtain a new schedule, call 961-1135.
