CRAIG COUNTY SUFFERS 80-77 OVERTIME LOSS

Mark Grigsby took over in the fourth quarter Wednesday night in leading James Monroe (W.Va.) to an 80-77 overtime victory over Craig County in high school boys' basketball.

Grigsby had 20 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as James Monroe overcame stellar efforts by Robbie Huffman and Jamie Fisher of the Rockets.

Huffman had 28 points and Fisher added 27 for Craig County (3-6), which had three starters foul out in the fourth quarter. The two combined for 23 of the Rockets' 27 points in the fourth quarter and had nine 3-point goals between them.

Craig County led by three points with time running out in regulation when Grigsby made James Monroe's only 3-pointer of the game to tie the score and send the game into overtime.

PEARISBURG - Aaron Myers sank a shot at the buzzer as the Spartans beat the Maroon Tide in a non-district contest.

Myers scored 13 of his 26 points in the third quarter. He was 7-for-7 from the field during that period.

The score was tied at 57 when Tito Crockett was fouled with 10 seconds left. Crockett made his first free throw but missed the second. Giles (5-6) grabbed the rebound and managed to set up a shot for Myers.

Crockett scored 20 points to lead Galax (6-4). Josh Stephens added 15.
