Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday it will hold its annual shareholders meeting May 11 in Norfolk. Nearly 2,000 Ford employees work in Tidewater, most of them at the Norfolk assembly plant, which makes the company's F-series pickup trucks. In the past two years, Ford has announced four capital investments at the plant, totaling $521 million. The most recent investment - $290 million, primarily for a new body shop - will create 400 jobs by the end of this year.

ITT expanding Culpeper plant
ITT Corp.'s automotive division will create an estimated 100 jobs by expanding its Culpeper manufacturing operations to meet increasing worldwide demand for anti-lock brake systems, Gov. George Allen said Wednesday.
The company, based in Auburn Hills, Mich., will invest $47 million in the Culpeper plant, Allen said. The expansion will boost the plant size from 207,000 square feet to 237,000. It should be completed by March.
ITT is the world's largest brake systems supplier and the world's leading producer of four-wheel passenger car anti-lock brake systems.
The company plans to produce nearly 5 million ABS components annually from its Culpeper facility, vice president Thomas V. Chambers said.

Family Channel makes movie deal
International Family Entertainment Co.'s Family Channel subsidiary has signed a deal with Hallmark Entertainment to co-produce six new movies.
The movies will premiere on the Family Channel over the next two years, officials at the Virginia Beach-based IFE announced Tuesday.
The deal also allows the cable network to run 38 previously-produced Hallmark films.
IFE officials said the agreement is part of an effort to create original programming for the Family Channel.
Also IFE said the Family Channel has won three 1995 CableACE awards, given to the best original shows on cable television.
IFE was founded by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson, who is its chairman.
