The first event will be a visit from Dr. Ernest L. King, retired in Buena Vista. King, a leader in the church in its early post-World War II days, spent many years as a dental missionary in Indonesia. He will preach at 11 a.m.
Renewal services before Easter and an Old Fashioned Day in June also are planned.
The major celebration will occur in October when former staff members Steve Spangler, Charles Watkins and Robert Hamner, as well as Michael Clingenpeel, a former member who edits the Religious Herald state newspaper, will speak. The Oct. 29 observance also will include a dinner at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood and a special worship service.
The Rev. Dr. Philip Motley is pastor of Grandin Court. Hamner, retired in Roanoke, served the congregation for more than 30 years.
