FOR THE RECORD

Because of a computer error, outdated New York Stock Exchange listings were published in Thursday's paper.

Because of an editorial assistant's error, an incorrect caption was printed under a photograph in the Names & Changes column in the Sunday Business section. The Salem/Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce is the name of the organization serving that area.

Clarification

A story in Thursday's paper said convicted arsonist Luther Brown persuaded Bertie Wheeler to reduce the down payment on the house she was selling him from $15,000 to $6,000.

According to testimony in court, the two made a deal in which Brown paid Wheeler $5,000 toward the down payment and $1,000 for furniture soon after he moved into the house. Brown never paid the remaining $10,000.
