BRADLEY, Miss Jewell D., 77, of Lindside, W. Va., died Wednesday, January 18, 1995 at a Princeton, W. Va. hospital. Born April 16, 1917 in Lindside, she was the daughter of the late Letcher A. and Martha Hazelwood Bradley. Miss Bradley was a homemaker and was preceded in death by six brothers, Harold, Ralph, Roy, Edward, Quentin, and Bernard Bradley. Survivors include one sister, Phyllis Miller of Lindside, W. Va.; ten nieces; and two nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 1995, at the Broyles Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. James Allen and the Rev. Rodger Boothe officiating. Burial will follow at the Bradley Cemetery in Lindside, W. Va. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday, January 20, 1995, at the funeral home.

BROWN, James Thomas, (``Sonny""), 73, of Roanoke, passed away at the V. A. Medical Center in Salem, Wednesday, January 18, 1995. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, William (Tyson) and Lutricia Harbor; four grandchildren, Nicole, Michael D., Wendy B., and William Harbor Jr.; several great-grandchildren; devoted niece, Florine Brown; devoted nephews, Alvi n, Curtis, James R. and Cecil Brown, all of Roanoke; other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Monday at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, Roanoke, with the Rev. Winston Leonard, Pastor, officiating and burial in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

FLINCHUM, Charity Kirkner 96 of 4972 Pilot Road, Pilot, passed away Thursday morning, January 19, 1995, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Ross Flinchum; two children, Velma Sutherland, Marvin Flinchum; three grandchildren, Russell Ross Flinchum, Barbara Allen Rice, Valarie Flinchum. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Jean and Sidney Hodge, Christiansburg; six sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Allen Flinchum, Myrtle Beach S.C., Hubert and Margaret Flinchum, Jessie and Donna Flinchum, Henry Nelson Flinchum, Orris (""Bud"") Flinchum, Eugene (""Pete"") and Nancy Flinchum, all of Pilot; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a very special friend Ira Wright; numerous nieces and nephews. FRANCISCO, Paul Swanson 81, of Salem, died Thursday, January 19, 1995, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Druscilla Page Francisco; four sons and daughters-in-laws, Paul and Judy Francisco, Winston Salem, N.C., Richard and Jackie Francisco, Clinton, Md., Wayne and Cherly Francisco, Chesterfield, Clinton and Darlene Coates, Waco, Texas; four daughters and sons-in-laws, Lois and Pat Dotson, Elizabeth and Edward Wright, both of Salem, Sharon Katler, Lake City, Fla., Joan and Tommy Wallace, Chesapeake; three sisters, Grace Morris, Stewartsville, Jeanne Brockway, Annadale, Mary Case, Dallas Texas; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. HARPE, Thomas, 82, of Pulaski, formerly of Brooks Cross Roads, Yadkin County, died Wednesday, January 18, 1995, at Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg. He was born July 5, 1912, in Yadkin County to Jim and Alice Bell Harpe. He was a retired supervisor of the Hercules Power Company. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Doris Sale Harpe of the home; one son, James T. Harpe of Roanoke; one daughter, Carol Brinkley of Huntersville, N.C.; one brother, Ellies Harpe of Elkin; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Yadkin County, conducted by the Rev. Jack Cook, with the body to be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Miller Funeral Service from 6:30 until 8:30 Friday night. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

HILBER, Rebecca Arrington, 83, of Goode, entered into eternal rest at the Bedford County Hospital, Thursday, January 19, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Hilber S r. and son, Mack Hilber Jr. She was born in Halifax, N.C. on May 12, 1911. She was the daughter of the late Alex and Mattie W. Arrington. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James A. and Madeline Hilber of Richmond, Robert L. and Barbara Hilber of Columbia, S.C., Marean and Rose Marie Hilber of Lynchburg, Edward L. Hilber of Newport News; one godson, Rufas Calloway of Bedford; daughters and sons-in-law, Mattie H. and Campbell Morris, Maria H. and Paul Mitchell, Sadie H. Jones, all of Bedford, Florence H. and Francis Spinner of Goode, Eleanor H. Jefferson of Hampton; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; two brothers, Thomas A. Arrington of Richmond, Jonathan Arrington of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Gertrude Crowell of Washington, D.C., Carrie Fletcher of Salisburg, Md.; a close family friend, Joe Taborn of East Orange, N.J.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 1995, at the Washington Street Baptist Church, Bedford, with the Rev. L. L. Yuille officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the church Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral. ROUDABUSH, Adelaide Akers, 88, of Villamont, died Wednesday, January 18, 1995 in a Roanoke Hospital. She was the widow of Julian Paul Roudabush. She was a longtime member of the Villamont Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, J. Paul Jr. and Marquerite Roudabush, Stuart, Joe F. and Jane M. Roudabush, Villamont; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary S. and Jimmy Buttram, Villamont; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 12 p.m . Saturday, January 21, 1995 with the Rev. Lee Roy Jamison and the Rev. Jesse Bratton officiating. THURMAN, Conrad Claude, 56, of Vinton, passed away Thursday, January 19, 1995. He was employed by Noland Company for the past 37 years. TODD, Thomas Michael, 26, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, January 13, 1995. Surviving are his mother, Esterline (Granny) Thomas, Roanoke; one son, Andre' Bratton, Alexandria; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Tony and Cynthia Thomas, Eric Thomas, all of Roanoke, and Terry Thomas of South Carolina; four sisters, Sheryl Thomas, Wanda Thomas, Gail Thomas and Tracy Thomas, all of Roanoke; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. UPDIKE, Julia Latimer, 68, of Wirtz, died Thursday, January 19, 1995. She is survived by her husband, Harry F. Updike Jr.; three brothers, Charles Latimer, George W. Latimer, Melvin Latimer; sisters, Bertie Booth, Mary Roberts; also surviving are nieces and nephews. WEBB, Anthony Warren, 49, of Salem, died Thursday, January 19, 1995. Those close to him will be forever touched by his unique outlook on life. He proudly served his country with two tours in Vietnam, where he was wounded twice. As a result of those wounds, he was told he would never walk again, but with determination he changed his fate. It is that same determination that aided him in his battle with cancer. He fought his last battle gallantly as any Green Beret would. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Vickie Webb; two sons, Richard Benjamin Turner, home, Kristofer Warren Webb, Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Shannon Nicole Webb, Roanoke; two grandsons, Bradley and Joshua; mother, Dorothy Webb, Salem; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanie and Donald Walker, Buchanan, Jackie and Ricky Mullins, Fincastle; brother, Matt Webb, Salem. He is also survived by his devoted father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Lewis and Jackie Altice; his faithful friend and doctor, Arindam Choudhury, MD; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda Altice. The family will receive friends at the home, 1504 Carrollton Avenue, Salem, on Friday, January 20.
