BLUE DEVILS FEND OFF BUFFALO STAMPEDE

Wes Self and Chad Shaffner combined to score 20 of Grayson County's 24 fourth quarter points as the Blue Devils held on to defeat Floyd County 70-65 in a boys' non-district game Tuesday night.

Self finished with 15 points and Shaffner had 12 after scoring just two in the first three quarters. Grayson County (11-2) was led by 6-7 center Bryan Boyer, who had 22.

The Buffaloes (8-4), who were down by six at halftime, rallied behind Brian Harman, who scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half. Floyd County made only 17 of 34 free throws.

RADFORD - Will Dodson made a key 3-pointer - one of five on the night - that broke a 58-58 tie and the Eagles prevailed over the Bobcats in a non-district game.

Radford (5-8) had a chance to win with 10 seconds remaining, but Tracy Bradshaw stole a pass and was fouled. Bradshaw, who had 15 points for the Eagles, missed on his free throw attempts, but Rocky Gap held on.

Dodson finished with 24 points for the Eagles (7-5).

Chuck Hubbard paced the Bobcats with 16 points.

MONETA - Hunter Hoggatt had 34 points - 26 on free throws - as the Golden Eagles won a Seminole District game.

Hoggatt was 26-of-29 from the free-throw line as Staunton River (9-4) won the second and third quarters 38-21 to seize control.

Jefferson Forest (4-10) got 15 points from Jeremy Hughes and 14 from Steve Myers.

Ballard Christ., W.Va. 57

BALLARD, W.Va.- Ryan Gordon scored 19 points and Aaron Meadows added 18 as the Crusaders rolled past Ballard Christian in a non-district game.

Jonathan Spencer led Ballard (1-12) with a game-high 25 points, including five 3-pointers, and Jody Lee added 15.

Jay Perfater had 15 points for Gateway Christian (7-5).

Bland 50

PEARISBURG - Anthony Myers tied a school record for assists in a game and brother Aaron scored 16 points as Giles rolled past Bland in a non-district contest.

Anthony Myers, who scored eight points, dished out 12 assists and grabbed seven rebounds. Bland (5-6) was plagued by numerous turnovers.

The Spartans (7-5) got 16 points from Josh Stephens..

Bland was led by Wesley Strock, who scored 11 points, and Andy Selfe, who added 10.
