GIRL SCOUTS ADD LOW-FAT COOKIE

The country's low-fat rage has hit the Girl Scouts, who took their annual cookie sales to the streets Friday.

Scouts are now taking orders for the seven traditional favorites, plus an eighth, low-fat iced oatmeal and raisin cookie called SNAPS.

Each year the cookie sale helps Girl Scout troops raise money for activities, while teaching the girls leadership, marketing and financial skills.

The price is the same as last year - $2.50 a box. The troop keeps 45 cents for each box its members sell. The remainder of the money pays for the cookies and is used by the council for troop and camping scholarships, training and materials.

If you don't know a Girl Scout and want to order cookies, call the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council at 1-800-542-5905 to have cookies sent your way.
