BLACKSBURG - The Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce seeks nominations for its annual Distinguished Citizen and Businessperson of the Year awards.
Nominations must be submitted in writing to the chamber office, 141 Jackson St., by Friday, March 3.
The awards will be presented at the annual membership banquet tentatively scheduled for March 21.

Communication skills workshop
CHRISTIANSBURG - Donna Tyson of D.R. Tyson Management in Fredericksburg will speak on power communication skills Wednedsay, Feb. 8, 8:30-11:30 a.m., in the New River Valley Mall community room.
Tyson will discuss passive and active communication styles, telephone skills and evaluation of receivers' processing styles.
The workshop, sponsored by the Christiansburg-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, is $25 for members and $40 for non-members.

Radford chamber Spring Sensation
RADFORD - The Radford Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its Spring Sensation, an evening featuring cocktails, dancing and an auction, Feb. 18, 5:30-10 p.m., in the Norwood Room.
