Child care providers can learn about taxes and record-keeping at a workshop in Roanoke on Feb. 18.
Tom Copeland, a nationally recognized speaker on family child care and record keeping, will lead the workshop. The cost, which is tax-deductible, is $7.50. Pre-payment and registration are due by Feb. 13.

Wireless communication
BLACKSBURG - Robert G. Templin, Jr., the new president of the state's Center for Innovative Technology, will talk about research in wireless communication in Southwest Virginia during a breakfast at Virginia Tech marking National Engineers' Week Feb. 22.
New River Valley and Roanoke business, education, and political leaders will attend.
Templin, who was recently featured in Fortune magazine, became CIT president in September 1994. Previously he was president of Thomas Nelson Community College, and he has held faculty and administrative positions within the Virginia Community College system, the University of Virginia, and at colleges and universities in Maryland, North Carolina and Kentucky.
