MAN FOUND DEAD IN MOTEL ROOM

The body of a 47-year-old Roanoke County man was found in a room at the Skyline Motel on U.S. 220 South, police said.

The motel's manager found Roy Richards dead early Tuesday. Police said Richards was last seen Saturday afternoon at the motel office settling his bill. Richards told the manager he wanted to stay for another week.

The manager had attempted to telephone Richards in his room for the past several days. When he was unable to reach him, the manager entered Richards' room.

Police said there were no signs of a struggle and that Richards appeared to have died from natural causes. An autopsy is expected to be completed today.
