TONI BRANDON, a former grant writer and public-relations specialist at Total Action Against Poverty, has been named director of public relations at Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville. She is a former radio and newspaper reporter and has a bachelor's degree in speech communication and English.

DAVID STEPHEN COX, of Roanoke, recently earned the District Manager of the Year award for Pat Ryan & Associates, a finance and insurance company based in Chicago.

Cox's territory, which includes Roanoke, West Virginia and portions of Pennsylvania, is rated No.1 by the company.

LINDA MOODY of Friendship Manor has been elected president of the Roanoke Valley Apartment Association for 1995.

Other officers are: Terri Taylor of Cedar Point Apartments, first vice president; Emily McCallulm of McKinney Furniture Rentals, second vice president; Peggy Houck of Cedar Ridge Apartments, secretary; and Marilyn Kingma of Kingma Productions Inc., treasurer.

DAVID VAUGHN and MARGARET THACKER recently received awards from the Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association Inc.

Vaughn, of Dominion Builders, received the presidential award, which was established in 1979 and has been given only four times. It recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions to the association and the building industry over a sustained period of time.

Thacker, of Gurtner Graphics & Printing Co. in Salem, received the Raymond Bryant Memorial Award in recognition of her support and dedication to the industry and willingness to help whenever called upon by her associates. The award was named for a deceased member of the association.
