Hoping they won't get zapped again by inclement weather, the folks at Eagle Country 107 WPSK (107.1 FM) plan to go after the world country line-dancing record today at 4 p.m. at New River Valley Mall. The event was postponed last weekend because of the snow. Proceeds benefit Karen Board, a cancer sufferer who needs money to pay for a bone marrow transplant.
The goal is to break the world's record in the number of people participating in an amateur country line dance, currently 30,000, according to the Guiness Book of World Records. WPSK requests a $5 donation from each participant. Donations to help Board also are welcome to the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program, P.O. Box 2243, Christiansburg, 24073. Make checks out to MCEAP-VTEF. Call 633-1071 for more information.
