CHRISTIANSBURG RALLIES PAST AUBURN 73-70

John Hairston's off-balance, fall-away jumper with two seconds left gave Christiansburg a 71-70 lead and the Blue Demons rallied to defeat Auburn in a non-district game.

The Blue Demons trailed by 13 at halftime and by eight after three quarters before Hairston led a fourth-quarter comeback by scoring 16 of his game-high 26 points, including four 3-pointers and two free throws with two-tenths of a second remaining after an Auburn technical foul.

Darrell Calloway scored 18 points and Carlton Ashbrook 11 for the Blue Demons.

Auburn (11-5) was led by Bradley Hudgins, who scored 19 points and made 11 assists to account for 41 of Auburn's points. The Eagles also got 17 points from Jon Reed and 14 apiece from Terry Millirons and Kenny Wojciechowski.

FLOYD - The Buffaloes had five double-figure scorers as Floyd County (11-4, 3-1) routed the Spartans in a Three Rivers District game.

Jamie Warren and Ben Kiser scored 21 points each for Floyd. Travis Cantrell finished with 17, Brian Harman 13 and Peter Bucklin 11.

Josh Stephens scored 16 points to lead Giles. Aaron Myers added 15 and Raypheal Milton 12.

Temple Christian 32

ABINGDON - Aaron Meadows scored 13 points and Monte Pence added 12 as the Crusaders routed Temple Christian.

Gateway led 17-3 in the first quarter and never trailed.

Tom Williams scored 10 points for Temple.
