The Blue Demons trailed by 13 at halftime and by eight after three quarters before Hairston led a fourth-quarter comeback by scoring 16 of his game-high 26 points, including four 3-pointers and two free throws with two-tenths of a second remaining after an Auburn technical foul.
Darrell Calloway scored 18 points and Carlton Ashbrook 11 for the Blue Demons.
Auburn (11-5) was led by Bradley Hudgins, who scored 19 points and made 11 assists to account for 41 of Auburn's points. The Eagles also got 17 points from Jon Reed and 14 apiece from Terry Millirons and Kenny Wojciechowski.
Friday's games
Laurel Park 66, Dan River 56: In Ringgold, the Lancers built a 12-point halftime lead and held off the Wildcats in the Piedmont District.
Darrell Wilson and Rashad Wall each scored 16 points and Girard Foster 13 for Laurel Park (11-5, 11-3 Piedmont). Wall also had five blocks. Steven Guy led Dan River with a game-high 22 points and Erick Ferguson added 13.
Castlewood 102, Rural Retreat 58: In Castlewood, sophomore Josh Miotke scored a game-high 21 points and the Blue Devils used a 44-9 advantage in the third quarter to put away the Indians in a Hogoheegee District game.
Travis Lambert scored 18 points, Jason Monk 13 and B.J. Lasley 12 for Castlewood (8-4, 8-8).
Rural Retreat (2-13, 2-9) was led by W.K. Smith's 19 points.
