FLEMING SQUANDERS LEAD, FALLS 67-66 TO MARYLAND TEAM

The Colonels (11-4) led 61-47 with three minutes left to play. But Con McMurry hit two of his five 3-point goals to lead Southern's rally.

Derrick Hines of Fleming led all scorers with 27 points while Keath Hampton fired in four 3-point goals.

In Danville, Michelle Warner scored a game-high 13 points to lead GW-Danville past Franklin County in a non-district girls' game Saturday.

Franklin County (8-7), which scored just 12 points in the first half and was down by 15 at halftime, came back in a 20-point third quarter.

Sandy Hudson scored six of her team-high 12 points in the third and Natalie Giles had four of her 11 in the third to bring the Eagles back.

Hudson missed a shot at the buzzer to tie and GW-Danville held on for the win.
