FESTIVAL OF FRENCH FILMS AT HOLLINS

The French department of Hollins College will sponsor a festival of French films to be shown on four consecutive Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in Babcock Auditorium in the school's Dana Science Building. All films have English subtitles and are open to the public.

The movies are:

Feb. 21. ``Madame Bovary'' (1991): Directed by Claude Chabrol and starring Isabelle Huppert in Gustave Flaubert's story of a woman's obsessive pursuit of wealth and prestige. Rated PG-13.

Feb. 28. ``La Gloire de Mon Pere'' (1991): Directed by Yves Robert and starring Philippe Caubere and Nathalie Roussel in Marcel Pagnol's story of his treasured childhood in the South of France at the turn of the century. Rated G.

March 7. ``Le Chateau de Ma Mere'' (1991): Robert directs Caubere and Roussel again in this continuation of Pagnol's story. Rated PG.

March 14. ``Cyrano de Bergerac'' (1990): Directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau and starring Gerard Depardieu in the title role of the 17th-century soldier possessed of large nose and a poetic disposition. Not rated.
