GUNMAN FLEES AFTER ROBBING ROANOKE STORE

A Southwest Roanoke convenience store was held up Sunday evening by a man with a gun, police said.

The man entered the Uni-Mart at 3515 Franklin Road about 6, Roanoke police said.

After being in the store for a while, he pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money.

The man forced the clerk to the floor, took a small amount of cash from the register, then ran, police said.

Police did not find the man. No one was injured.
