ELECTRICAL SHORT STARTS TRAILER FIRE

An electrical short started a fire that destroyed a Roanoke mobile home Monday night.

The home, at the Circle T Mobile Home Park on Thirlane Road just northwest of Roanoke Regional Airport, caught fire about 10 p.m.

Fire Chief James Patton said the short apparently ignited a couch. After fire crews extinguished the blaze, the inside of the home was completely burned and every window had been destroyed.

No one was home when the fire started. Patton said he and the mobile-home park owner tried to locate the woman who lived in the trailer.

``No one knows where she is,'' Patton said. ``It'd be a terrible thing to come home to, wouldn't it?''
