SIT-IN ENDS GAME

Students protesting inflammatory racial comments by Rutgers president Francis Lawrence staged an on-court sit-in Tuesday night, forcing the suspension of the basketball game between No. 4 Massachusetts and Rutgers.

The protest started with a black female sitting at the jump ball circle just before the second half. Security guards came out to talk to her, but the protest escalated after two minutes and more than 150 students, nearly all black, eventually sat on the floor.
