EARNINGS

Allstate Corp., Northbrook, Ill., insurance company with a regional operations center in Roanoke County, reported 1994 net income of $483.8 million, or $1.08 per share, on revenues of $21.46 billion, compared with 1993 earnings of $1.30 billion, or $2.99 per share, on revenue of $20.95 billion. For the fourth quarter, net income was $163.1 million, or 37 cents per share, on revenue of $5.42 billion, compared with year-earlier $259 million, or 57 cents per share, on revenue of $5.28 billion.

Carmike Cinemas

Carmike Cinemas Inc., Columbus, Ga., operator of movie theaters including the Salem Valley 8, Valley View 6 and Tanglewood Mall theaters in Roanoke Valley, reported earnings of $3.4 million, or 36 cents per share, on total revenues of $83.1 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with $1.8 million, or 22 cents per share, on revenues of $65.4 million for the same period the previous year. Earnings were $17 million, or $2 per share, on revenues of $327.6 million for the year, compared with $12.3 million, or $1.55 per share, on revenues of $241.8 million.

McDermott International

McDermott International Inc., a New Orleans energy services company operating its Babcock & Wilcox division in Lynchburg, reported earnings of $27.7 million, or 51 cents per share, on sales of $715 million in the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with $13.3 million, or 25 cents per share, on sales of $798 million in the year-ago period. Earnings were $21.7 million, or 40 cents per share, on sales of $2.19 billion for the nine months ended Dec. 31, compared with a loss of $26.5 million, or 50 cents per share, on sales of $2.28 billion.

Stanley Furniture

Stanley Furniture Co. Inc., Stanleytown manufacturer of residential furnishings, reported fourth-quarter net income of $910,000, or 19 cents per share, on sales of $51.7 million, compared with year-earlier $1.7 million, or 35 cents per share, on sales of $47.9 million. For the year, net income was $2.4 million, or 50 cents per share, on sales of $184.3 million, compared with 1993 income of $5.3 million, or $1.39 per share, on sales of $167.1 million.

WLR Foods

WLR Foods Inc., Broadway, Va., chicken and turkey processor operating a distribution center in Roanoke for its Cassco Ice & Cold Storage subsidiary, reported earnings of $6.78 million, or 56 cents per share, on sales of $247.8 million for its second quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with $4.13 million, or 37 cents per share, on sales of $182.3 million for the year-ago quarter. Earnings were $13.3 million, or $1.12 per share, on sales of $458 million for the half, compared with $7.9 million, or 72 cents per share, on sales of $361 million.
