RUTGERS-UMASS TO RESUME GAME: After consulting with the athletic directors from both schools, Linda Bruno, the Atlantic 10 Conference's commissioner, said Tuesday's interrupted game between Rutgers and Massachusetts will be resumed at 8 p.m. March 2 at the Palestra in Philadelphia. The site was chosen because both teams will be in Philadelphia for the Atlantic 10 Tournament two days later.
Bruno ordered the game suspended after more than 150 students staged an on-court sit-in at halftime at the Rutgers Athletic Center, protesting recently published remarks by university President Francis Lawrence, who said in the fall that minorities don't have the genetic background to do well on entrance exams.
