REPORTED EARNINGS

Eagle-Picher

Eagle-Picher Industries Inc., Cincinnati parent of the Wolverine gaskets plant in Blacksburg, reported net income of $48.7 million, or $4.42 per share, on sales of $756.7 million for its fiscal year ended Nov. 30, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $1.16 billion, equal to $104.92 a share, on sales of $661.5 million. In the 1993 fourth quarter, the company recorded a $1.14 billion provision for asbestos liability.

In its fourth quarter, the company reported net income of $11.3 million, or $1.03 per share, on sales of $195.8 million, compared with year-earlier loss of $1.17 billion, equal to $106.14 per share, on sales of $175.9 million.

Federal-Mogul Corp.

Federal-Mogul Corp., Southfield, Mich.-based operator of an engine bearings plant in Blacksburg, reported net earnings of $63.3 million, or $1.55 per share, on sales of $1.9 billion in 1994, compared with $40.1 million, or $1.13 per share, on sales of $1.58 billion a year earlier. In the fourth quarter, earnings were $11.8 million, or 27 cents per share, on sales of $515.5 million, compared with year-earlier $7.3 million, or 17 cents per share, on sales of $393.2 million.

Georgia-Pacific Corp.

Georgia-Pacific Corp., Atlanta-based forest-products company with operations in Bedford County and a distribution center in Roanoke, reported net income of $310 million, or $3.48 per share, on sales of $12.74 billion for 1994, compared with a net loss in 1993 of $34 million, equal to 39 cents per share, on sales of $12.29 billion. For the fourth quarter, net income was $169 million, or $1.89 per share, on sales of $3.34 billion, compared with a year-earlier loss of $36 million , equal to 41 cents per share, on sales of $3.18 billion.

Vishay Intertechnology

Vishay Intertechnology Inc., Malvern, Pa., maker of passive electronic components for industry and parent of Vitramon Inc. of Roanoke, reported net earnings of $58.9 million, or $2.52 per share, on sales of $987.8 million in 1994, compared with $44.1 million, or $1.91 per share, on sales of $856.3 million in 1993. For the fourth quarter, net earnings were $17.5 million, or 70 cents per share, on sales of $274.2 million, compared with year-earlier $8.8 million, or 40 cents per share, on sales of $203.9 million.
