BRENDLE'S NAMES PRESIDENT, CEO

Brendle's Inc., Elkin, N.C.-based retailer, said Friday that Joseph McLeish Jr. will replace Douglas D. Brendle as president and chief executive officer. McLeish, 47, currently is president of the Merchandisers Association Inc., a Charlotte, N.C., cooperative of independent retailers. Brendle is retiring after 44 years with the company.
