BLACKSBURG - VTLS Inc. will create a database of library holdings for seven universities in Spain's Catalonia region.

The combined database will allow library users greater access to research materials, which can be requested from distant libraries through interlibrary loan.

All the libraries already run VTLS locally. The combined database, work on which will begin during the first quarter 1995, will have between 700,000 and 900,000 holdings.

NRCC professor speaks to chamber

PULASKI - Ron Chaffin, chairman of New River Community College's Division of Industrial Sciences, will address a Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon Thursday on how the college is meeting the challenge of change.

The meeting will last from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the L. Brinkley Eure Building at Pulaski Community Hospital. The price is $10 per person. Reservations should be made by Mondayby sending a check to the chamber at P.O. Box 169, Pulaski, Va. 24301 or calling 980-1991.
