OUTLET OFFERS SELECTION, GOOD PRICE

Brides-to-be interested in purchasing a wedding gown without waiting the several months it sometimes takes to order one, now have an alternative.

Virginia Bridal Outlet, which opened in November at Town Square in Roanoke, carries a full line of wedding gowns, in sizes 4-28, which can be bought right off the rack and taken home the same day.

"We have about 300 gowns on the racks at all time," said Manager Jane Godfrey. "In here, you're not trying on a 10 and ordering a 4. You can try on the 4.

"All our gowns come from a company called 'Advantage,' " Godfrey said. She said Virginia Bridal Outlet is the only store in the state to carry that line. The gowns are not discontinued, but come right from the Advantage factory, Godfrey added. Gowns can be ordered if needed.

In addition to a large selection, Godfrey said her store offers quality gowns for a good price. The cost of a wedding dress at Virginia Bridal Outlet ranges from $299 to $590. Veils cost $89 or $99.

Most gowns in the $590 range are 100 percent silk or have some 30,000 beads, Godfrey said. They also come with a royal train, which is longer than the traditional cathedral-length train.

Godfrey said if a gown needs alteration, her staff will recommend someone to do the job.

Business has been good since the outlet opened, according to Godfrey. "We're selling them as quick as we can get the dresses in," she said.

In addition to offering a wide selection of wedding gowns and veils, Virginia Bridal Outlet also carries bridesmaid gowns, accessories, shoes lingerie and jewelry.
