`MOST WANTED' SUSPECT ARRESTED NEAR WYTHEVILLE

A woman described on Fox-TV's ``America's Wanted Wanted'' segment Saturday night was taken into custody Sunday afternoon by state police at a truck stop east of Wytheville.

Tammy Weller, a 25-year-old woman from Garden City, Ga., faces a number of burglary and theft charges. But the incident re-enacted on the television program was the shooting of a man in the parking lot of the Caesar's Palace nightclub in Las Vegas.

Authorities described the shooting, which has left victim John Hudson partly incapacitated, as a ``thrill'' crime. Hudson was shot in the head.

Acting on a tip about Weller traveling with a truck driver, police tracked her to the Petro Truck Stop near Fort Chiswell and arrested her shortly after 4 p.m. An employee at the truck stop said the arrest was made quietly and caused no disturbance.

State police were releasing no further details at press time Sunday night.
