PEDESTRIAN, PIZZA MAN ATTACKED; NO ARRESTS

A 33-year-old Salem man was robbed as he walked along the 100 block of Church Avenue Southwest on Saturday night, Roanoke police said. He was beaten by several men and treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

In another incident, a 29-year-old Pizza Hut employee was beaten by a group of men as he delivered a pizza in the 2400 block of Maryland Avenue Northwest on Friday afternoon. Roanoke police said two witnesses told them that seven to 10 men were seen hitting the man.

Police said about $30 was taken from the man, who was hit in the head with a brick. The man drove himself home and was treated at a hospital, police said.

There had been no arrests Monday in either incident.
