RADFORD - Matt Linkous sank two free throws with three seconds left as the Bobcats upset the Eagles in a Three Rivers District game.
Linkous scored 27 points for Radford (7-11 overall, 3-3 Three Rivers) as he went 5-for-6 in 3-point shooting, 9-for-11 from the field and made all four of his free throws.
The game was close throughout as Radford took a 22-19 halftime lead and trailed by as many as four in the second half. The score was tied at 47 with three seconds to go when Linkous was fouled. After Linkous' free throws, Auburn committed a turnover as time ran out.
Chuck Hubbard scored 11 points for the Bobcats.
Jon Reed scored 18 points for Auburn (11-5, 3-1). Terry Millirons had 16 and Kenny Wojciechowski added 11.
