LEGG LEAVES VMI FOR WVU

VMI football assistant Bill Legg has taken a job as an assistant at his alma mater, West Virginia, WVU coach Don Nehlen announced Monday.

Legg, who spent one season coaching the offensive line at VMI, replaces Mike Jacobs, who left for Ohio State. Legg will coach the Mountaineer centers and guards.

Legg was Nehlen's first recruit at West Virginia and started for four seasons at center from 1981-84.

Salem's Chip Sullivan shot a 66 and Billy King of Roanoke carded a 68 as each finished one stroke back in the regular and senior divisions, respectively, in the first round of the PGA Tournament Series in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The tournament concludes today.
