CFW to provide phone-card service

CFW Communications Services Inc. of Waynesboro said Monday it has contracted with NECA Services Inc. of New Jersey to provide prepaid calling-card services nationwide.

Phone customers buy the Independence Card for specific amounts, then use the card to make calls until the prepaid amount is used up. Cards can be "refreshed" by buying additional amounts of phone time.

Cards bought at a local telephone company can be used at any touch-tone phone in the United States at one flat, per-minute rate, CFW said. There is no surcharge per call as with traditional phone cards.
