``Conference '95 - Bridge the Gap,'' the Virginia Artist Business Development Association's second all-artisan conference, will be held March 24-26 at the Natural Bridge Hotel, Natural Bridge.
Features will include artisan speakers on ``the marketing of crafts,'' seminars on photography, basic and professional marketing, taxes and the artist, and accounting with computers.
Keynote speaker is Paula Owens, director of Richmond's Hand Work Shop.

Horse festival
The Seventh Annual Virginia Horse Festival will take place April 22-23 at the Virginia Horse Center, Lexington.
Amateur and professional horse people from across the state will join in noncompetitive events, exhibits and educational demonstrations.
Vendors will display tack, clothing, equipment and services on the Coliseum concourse.
The Equine Art and Photography Show, sponsored by the Roanoke United Methodist Home, will include three-dimensional art. A draft horse pulling contest, sponsored by Southern States, with teams from across the United States, will highlight Saturday evening.
Also included during the two-day event are 4-H and pony club exhibits, Stallion Row, wagon rides and the traditional pig roast dinner and Sunday morning pancake breakfast.

Zoo volunteers
Interested adults who like working with animals, the public and/or children are invited to learn about volunteer opportunities at Mill Mountain Zoo. A docent orientation/recruitment seminar will be held March 1, 7 p.m., in the Brodie Room of Roanoke City Library's main branch.
Those interested must be able to commit to four to six hours per week. Schedules are flexible and training is provided.
Mill Mountain Zoo is a nonprofit organization committed to wildlife and habitat conservation through educational programming and exhibits.

Creasy tribute
Fifteen Virginia Watercolor Society members from the Roanoke Valley will participate in a tribute exhibit to the late John Will Creasy from Feb. 21-28 at the Brambleton Center, Roanoke.
Two of Creasy's snowscapes will be on exhibit. Other artists include Nadine Allen, Louis Barberis, Judy Bates, Patricia Carr, Sandra Chadwick, Norris Coleman, Carole Davis, Vera Dickerson, Martha Dillard, Belva Hicks, Pat Lawson, Chrys Meador, Diane Patton, Shirley Prillaman and Harriett Stokes.
