The Minutemen also clinched a Region III playoff berth and solidified their No. 6 ranking in the state sportswriters' Group AA poll.
Liberty held a 19-5 advantage after one quarter and built that to 38-15 at the half. The Devils mounted a fourth-quarter rally, but it was too late.
Twelve of the thirteen Minutemen scored in the victory, led by Stephen Shrader's 13 points. Mike Padgett tossed in 12 points for Liberty (17-2, 17-2) and Greg Reynolds chipped in eight. Four more Liberty players added seven points.
Luke Yarborough led Rustburg (2-17, 2-17) in scoring with 11 points.

In a preview of their meeting in next week's Roanoke Valley District tournament, the Eagles beat the host Patriots in a close game for the second time this season.
Franklin County (11-8, 3-4), which won 54-53 in Rocky Mount earlier, broke open a tight game early in the fourth quarter on a pair of three-point plays by K.C. Hancock, who led all scorers with 27 points.
Patrick Henry (6-13, 0-8) shot 60 percent from the field but was victimized by 20 turnovers. Chris Combs and Brooks Berry had 20 and 16 points, respectively, for the Patriots.

NARROWS - Scott Vaught scored a team-high 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Narrows avenged an earlier 32-point beating at Bland by pounding the visiting Rockets in a Mountain Empire District game.
Vaught scored 16 of his points in the second half and Norman Perkins had all 10 of his points in the second half to go along with 10 rebounds.
The Green Wave (11-7, 5-3) led by only two at halftime and actually trailed by six late in the first half before Patrick Bailey came up with three consecutive steals and the Green Wave converted all three into points. Bailey finished with 20 points, including 11 in the second half, as Narrows outscored Bland 42-29 in the second half to take command of the game.
Bland (8-10, 2-6) was led by Shannon Havens, who scored a game-high 23 points.

TAZEWELL- The Indians jumped out to a 21-14 first quarter lead and never looked back as Blacksburg downed Tazewell in non-district action.
Aarron Marshall led the Indians (7-11) with a game-high 17 points and Anthony Wheeler tossed in 14.
Daniel Wright was the high-scorer for the Bulldogs (4-15) with 16 points and Thad Beavers chipped in 11. Rock Snapp and Jason Snapp added 12 and10 points, respectively, for Tazewell.

SHAWSVILLE-Auburn scored the last 11 points in the first half as the Eagles defeated Shawsville in a Three Rivers District game.
With the score 22-19 in favor of Auburn (12-6, 4-2) with 2 minutes to go in the second quarter, the Eagles scored the final 11 points of the half, 6 on two 3-pointers by John Reed.
Shawsville (2-17, 1-6) countered by scoring the first 5 points of the second half, cutting Auburn's lead to nine, but the Shawnees never got any closer.
Terry Millirons scored 23 points, John Reed 19, and Kenny Wojciechowski 16 to lead Auburn. Tommy Jones led Shawsville with 19 points.

Nathan Floyd led all scores with 22 points on 8 of 9 shooting from the floor for Parry McCluer (15-6, 8-4). Brandon Garrett pumped in 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Rockets and Mike McElroy tossed in 13 points, including three 3-pointers.
Craig County (3-15, 1-9) was led by Robby Huffman's 18 points and nine rebounds. Jamie Fisher added 10 points.
