POLL BACKS TECH MOVE

Virginia Tech made the right move in choosing the Atlantic 10 Conference over the Colonial Athletic Association, according to an InfoLine poll of Roanoke Times & World-News readers.

Of the 275 responses, 69.8 percent picked the A-10 over the CAA as the best home for Tech's sports programs except football, which is in the Big East Conference.

The numbers for the A-10 were almost identical in the New River Valley and the Roanoke areas. In the New River Valley, 69.3 percent picked the A-10; 70 percent of the Roanoke-area callers backed the move.
