DONORS AND FUND-RAISERS...

nHomer Cox Ford in Christiansburg today will donate a Resusci Anne CPR training dummy to the town's rescue squad. The gift also comes from the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation.

The training dummy features sensors that tell students if they are applying enough pressure to the right spot or breathing correctly into its mouth. Thus, the students are able to learn the "feel" of CPR.

nNew River Community College has received an Outstanding Community Service Award from the Combined Virginia Campaign for exceeding its fund raising goal. The college's employees donated $3,972, or 105 percent of their goal.

The Montgomery County Rotary Club's annual spelling bee netted $1,865.93 for the Literacy Volunteers of America-New River Valley.

Levi Garrett and the listeners of KOOL-100 won top fund-raising honors in the 1995 Blacksburg Lock-Up, a campaign that raised $12,303.47 for muscular distrophy patients in the New River Valley.
