Due to a reporter's error, Tuesday's story about a proposed rule requiring state museums to raise at least 30 percent of their operating budgets from private funds misstated the rule's author.

The proposed rule, which has been adopted in the state Senate's version of the Virginia budget, originated with the Senate Finance Committee staff.

However, state Sen. Brandon Bell, R-Roanoke County, has championed the measure and says it addresses the same problem that he earlier introduced legislation about - the unequal state funding of Virginia's museums.
