VMI DROPS LYNCHBURG

Senior guard Brian Woolsey scored all of his team-high 14 points in the first half as VMI breezed past Lynchburg 84-66 in a non-conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at Cameron Hall.

The Keydets (7-14 ) have won five of their past seven games. Lynchburg, an NCAA Division III team from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, ended its season at 6-18.

VMI took a 25-point lead midway through the first half and had a 46-25 advantage at halftime.

The Keydets increased their lead to 27 points, 52-25, with 17 minutes, 26 seconds to play in the game.

Woolsey was 4-of-5 on 3-point attempts and helped push the Keydets to 201 made this season, a school record. VMI also set a record for 3-pointers attempted in a season with 601. The previous records, set last season, were 197 made and 579 attempted.

Otis Tucker III led Lynchburg with 29 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.
