WOMAN ADMITS STABBING PARENTS

A 23-year-old woman who told police she was angry because of a dispute about a boyfriend has pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing her sleeping mother and slashing her stepfather.

Tracy L. Charron faces life in prison for first-degree murder and up to 20 years for malicious wounding. She will stay at the Fairfax jail until her sentencing March 24.

Charron fled with the family dog after the attack Aug. 19. She was arrested hours later when she crashed her father's car in Pennsylvania.
