The YWCA of Roanoke Valley has announced the names of new officers elected to serve for the 1995 year.
They are: Virginia "Ginny" Allison, president; Elizabeth "Ibby" Greer, president-elect; Gloria Reiske, vice president; Agness Henderson, treasurer; and Delores Y. Johns, secretary.
Hospice offering grief and loss support
The Grief and Loss Counseling Center has two support groups in operation at Good Samaritan Hospice. They are for anyone who has experienced a loss.
The first group meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the hospice at 3825 Electric Road. The second group meets at Vinton Baptist Church the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.

Roanoker's poem published in book
Marie E. Boucher of Roanoke was recently selected for publication in "Dark Side of the Moon," a compilation of poetry by The National Library of Poetry.
Boucher's untitled poem was about her sister.
All poems received are also entered in The National Library of Poetry's North American Open Poetry Contest.
Council is seeking Eagle Scouts
