The Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Club Inc. announced registration is open for its second annual Saturday Session Program.

The program offers children ages 7 to 9 the opportunity to learn and play soccer for an hour and 15 minutes each Saturday.

Thirty minutes of each session will be used for technical instruction and 45 minutes for game play. No scores or standings will be kept by the coaches, who are senior players.

Elks Hoop Shoot winners named

The Elks Hoop Shoot Contest winners were recently announced.

Winners in the girls age divisions were: Laura Huang, 8- and 9-year-olds; Jamie Walthill, 10- and 11-year-olds; and Joanna Colosimo, 12- and 13-year-olds.

Winners of the boys divisions were: Matthew Hamilton, 8- and 9-year-olds; Michael Fuhrman, 10- and 11-year-olds; and Eric Jones, 12- and 13-year-olds.
