EARNINGS

Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores Inc., Lebanon, Tenn., restaurant chain with stores in Western Virginia, reported net income of $12.3 million, or 20 cents a share, on sales of $188.6 million in its second quarter ended Jan. 27, compared with year-earlier $9.9 million, or 16 cents, on sales of $150 million.

DeBartolo Realty

DeBartolo Realty Corp., a Youngstown, Ohio, real estate investment trust and owner of New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg, reported net income of $18.6 million, or 38 cents a share, on revenues of $324.2 million in 1994, compared with year-earlier $17.8 million, or 37 cents a share, on revenues of $308.9 million. For the fourth quarter, net income was $7.1 million, or 15 cents a share, on revenues of $87.3 million, compared with year-earlier $7.2 million, or 15 cents a share, on revenues of $84.4 million.

Home Shopping

Home Shopping Network Inc., St. Petersburg, Fla.-based television retailer with an order-filling warehouse in Salem, reported 1994 net income of $16.8 million, or 18 cents a share, on sales of $1.13 billion, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $22.8 million, equal to 26 cents a share, on sales of $1.05 billion. For the fourth quarter, net income was $1.8 million, or 2 cents a share, on sales of $301.7 million, compared with a year-earlier loss of $1.7 million, equal to 2 cents a share, on sales of $296.4 million.

The Limited

The Limited Inc., Columbus, Ohio-based retailer operating Limited, Lerner, Victoria's Secret, Lane Bryant, Structure and Bath & Body Works stores in the Roanoke Valley, reported net income of $448.3 million, or $1.25 a share, on sales of $7.32 billion for its fiscal year ended Jan. 28, compared with year-earlier $391 million, or $1.08 a share, on sales of $7.25 billion. For its fourth quarter, net income was $256.7 million, or 72 cents a share, on sales of $2.54 billion, compared with year-earlier $196.3 million, or 54 cents a share, on sales of $2.42 billion.

Roanoke Electric Steel

Roanoke Electric Steel Corp., Roanoke-based maker of specialty steel products, reported net earnings of $3.8 million, or 72 cents a share, on sales of $57.5 million in its first quarter, ended Jan. 31, compared with year-earlier $4.1 million, or 78 cents a share, on sales of $47.1 million.

The company reported earnings from operations, after income taxes but before the cumulative effect of accounting changes, of $3.8 million, up from $1 million in the year-earlier quarter. Chairman Donald Smith said those results reflect improved market conditions and improved efficiencies, including those from the start-up of the company's new auto-shredding operation in Franklin County.
