Pulaski train station open house

PULASKI - The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce will hold an open house at the Pulaski Railway Station, Feb. 24, 4:30 p.m.

The station, renovated with donations from local businesses, is the site of the new chamber offices and the Town of Pulaski's Museum.

The reservation deadline is Feb. 22.

National Bank gets top ratings

BLACKSBURG - Two bank research firms, Bauer Financial Reports Inc. of Coral Gables, Fla., and Veribanc, Inc. of Wakefield, Mass., recently awarded the National Bank of Blacksburg their highest ratings in banking excellence.

The bank also received Veribanc's Blue Ribbon Bank Commendation for the second and third quarters of 1994, the oldest national distinction from the private sector presented to banks for safety, soundness and financial strength.

\ Meadowbrook adds nursing service

SHAWSVILLE - Meadowbrook Nursing Center is newly licensed by the Virginia Department of Health to offer skilled nursing services.
