Jamie Price and Larry Jones each had two first-place finishes to lead Patrick Henry to the boys' title in the Roanoke Valley District track meet held Thursday at Rector Fieldhouse at Virginia Tech.
The Patriots scored 209 1/2 points to outdistance William Fleming (124 1/2) in the five-team field. The girls' competition was much closer as William Fleming scored 127 points to edge Cave Spring (118).
Jones, a winner in the long jump and the 55-meter high hurdles, also ran on the Patriots' first-place 800 and 1600 relay teams. Price won the 55 and 300 dashes.
Franklin County's David Angell was the only other boys' double winner, finishing first in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs.
Michelle Watson led Fleming's girls' victory by winning the 55 dash and anchoring the first-place 800 relay team, finishing second in the triple jump and 300 dash, and third in the long jump. Terrell Holland (high jump) was the Colonels' only other first-place finisher. Holland also finished second in the long jump, fourth in the 300 dash and ran on the 800 relay team.
Scoring double individual firsts for the girls were Franklin County's Leticia Claytor (long jump, triple jump) and Cave Spring's Bobbie Scott (1,600 and 3,200 runs).
