AWARD-WINNING PETUNIAS ARE A BEST BET

If you're interested in reducing the amounts of pesticides, fertilizers and water in your garden or landscape you may want to select plant varieties that have been tested and proven to be durable.

For years, the All-America Selections (AAS) honor has been bestowed on outstanding new flower or vegetable varieties that have been grown and evaluated in trial locations across North America. For 1995, three flower varieties have been chosen as AAS winners. These should be good choices to try as you're looking through seed catalogs or deciding what flowers to grow in hanging baskets or flower beds this season. They should be available from seed companies or possibly as bedding plants from local garden centers.
