WOMAN, BUS SHOT; MAN THREATENED

A 37-year-old Roanoke County woman was shot in the back as she walked along the 600 block of 10th Street Northwest on Saturday night, police said. She was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for two gunshot wounds.

Roanoke police said in a news release that she told them she came to visit someone, but that person was not home. As the woman left the house, three teen-age boys approached her, and one shot her with what she described as a rifle, police said.

In other incidents, an 18-year-old Northeast Roanoke man reported to police that a man placed a small-caliber revolver in his face and robbed him of $18 at a restaurant on 18th Street Northwest early Saturday. Police said the victim told them the assailant was a boyfriend of a woman he was talking to.

Friday afternoon, pellets from a BB gun shattered the driver's-side window of a Roanoke school bus at 13th Street and Tazewell Avenue Southeast. Neither the bus driver nor any students aboard were injured.
