MONTGOMERY SUPERVISORS TO REVIEW BUDGET PROPOSAL

County Administrator Betty Thomas and Finance Director Carol Edmonds will present the spending plan to board members in their meeting room on the third floor of the Montgomery County Courthouse in Christiansburg.

The budget will be for the fiscal year beginning July 1.

The board raised the real-estate tax rate last year for the first time since 1991. This year, the tax rate will be coming down slightly to adjust for the 1994 reassessment. But the board still could raise the rate after advertising any planned increase.
