The woman, who is 18 and from the Christiansburg area, was walking to her car when she was approached by a man she did not recognize, Lt. Doug Marrs said. The man brandished a handgun, forced her into his car and left the parking lot, driving to Childress Road in the Riner section of the county, Marrs said.
Somewhere between Christiansburg and Childress Road, Marrs said, the woman was molested. The woman escaped when she saw a house with a light on, and jumped from the man's car. Marrs said the woman estimated the car was going about 50 mph when she jumped.
The woman called police from the house. She is being treated at Montgomery Regional Hospital for injuries that include bruised shoulders and gravel imbedded in her skin.
The woman described her attacker as being in his early 20s, 6-foot-2, 230 to 240 pounds, with short blond hair. She said his car was an older model, two-door black car, possibly an Oldsmobile.
Marrs asked that anyone with information about the abduction call the Police Department at 382-3131.
