The Roanoke Valley may be conservative, but it also believes the government should provide health care.

The pollsters don't know what to make of this. Most curious of all, seniors citizens are the most likely to have the government provide their health insurance, yet the most opposed to the concept. Survey director Harry Wilson calls this "both strange and unexplained."

Most of those who only went to high school believe it should be the government's job, those who have been to college don't.

The poor.

The more money someone makes, the less likely they are to think the government should provide health care.

Less than $10,000: 71%

$10,000-$19,999: 46%

$20,000-$29,999: 59%

$30,000-$39,999: 46%
