This year marks the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II. On May 7 and Aug. 15, we will commemorate victory in Europe and Asia.

Solidiers from the New River Valley fought in the final days as the Allies swept into Germany. On the other side of the world, men from our area also helped acheive final victory against the Japanese.

The New River Current would like to tell our readers about the men - and women - who participated in V_E Day or V-J Day.
