The four-year terms of Lewis Pratt, the Draper District representative, and Carolyn Brown, representing the Cloyd District, expire June 30. It is a first term for each. Both are eligible for reappointment.
Whoever is chosen for those two seats will, like the other three current members, have less than a year to serve before deciding whether they want to seek additional terms. On Nov. 7, because of an earlier referendum changing the selection method to direct election, Pulaski County voters will choose their School Board members starting with the next election day.
The supervisors also will decide Monday night whether to participate in a regional jail agreement.
The city of Radford and counties of Giles and Grayson have approved the agreement, the next step that must be taken to move forward on the long-planned project. Floyd County also must make its decision soon.
